GRIFFO NAMED TO SENATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Senator Griffo will be a central figure in the
discussions on economic development

(Albany)- New York State Senator Joseph A. Griffo (R,C-47) was recently named to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business. The appointment puts the Senator in the middle of important discussions of how to improve the climate for business in Central and Northern New York. Being named to the committee was a priority of his prior to being elected.

"One of the top needs of the people in my Senate District is a reinvigorated approach to the upstate economy." said Senator Griffo. "People are in need of good jobs that allow them to provide for their families. Business owners want government to get out of their way so they can thrive. By serving on this committee I can take their message to Albany and work to make change."

Senator Griffo has already begun his term on the Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business Committee. In addition to this new committee assignment, he currently serves as the Chair of the Elections Committee and as a member of the following committees: Consumer Protection, Environmental Conservation, Energy & Telecommunications, Higher Education, Racing Gaming & Wagering and Veterans Homeland Security & Military Affairs.
